    William Cole, Belfast 1811 & 1838 Irish .577” Bore Flintlock Traveling Pistol. Sn 12621 - 12621

William Cole was a Northern Ireland based Gunsmith with premises at Ann Street, Hercules Place & Castle Street, Belfast, County Antrim between 1811 & 1838. This is an excellent flintlock traveling pistol by Cole. It measures 9 ½” overall and has a 4 ¼” barrel with clean smooth bore. The top of the barrel is engraved 'Belfast' and stamped with proof marks. Its hammer is fitted with flint. It has a brass trigger guard with extended tang and acanthus bud finial & brass ram rod mount. The lock plate is crisply marked '’W. Cole’ and has foliate decoration. The all original dark walnut full stock has a void brass escutcheon on top of the wrist. The wood is undamaged with just the bumps and bruises to be expected with age. The pistol is complete with its original wood ramrod. Its action works as it should. The price includes UK delivery. NB As an antique flintlock pistol no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as a part of a collection or display. Sn 12621
