~ WW1 American Remington Bayonet ~
One side of the blade is stamped with the flaming grenade logo, the reverse stamped 1317 with "W" in a circle.
The scabbard is made from pressed steel with a small metal tip. The frog is still attached. The reverse of the scabbard has has the name & regimental number of the original owner. One is stamped and reads "E.J.B.", the other is hand scribed and reads "Ben Welker, 204".
~ Dimensions ~
The blade has a width of 17 inches (43.2 cm), the bayonet has a width of 21.5 inches (54.6 cm) and a total of width of 22.5 inches (57.1 cm) when in scabbard. It weighs 790 g.
~ Condition ~
The blade is extremely clean with no traces of rust, pitting or nicks. The grip is in excellent condition.
The scabbard is in good order, other than some minor nicks to the front & use wear to the reverse. The metal tip to the end has some rust to the reverse.
An excellent example.
