~ A WW1 German 1917 dated Stormtroopers Artillery Luger ~
This rarer variant of the standard Luger is not fitted with a lug to take the artillery shoulder stock with its larger leather holster. Instead, the Stormtroopers preferred to have a canvas holster so as not to restrict movement so theirs were lugless.
This is also a privately hidden piece post-WW1 as there is no 1920 date stamp above the 1917 one when tighter restriction on owning Lugers and other firearms were put in place.
The top bears the DMW cypher with 43 behind and the 1917 date.
The serial numbers are 1543 to the left of the breech, 49 on the safety plate, 949 on the front of the frame, 49 on the release catch, G11 on the front of the grip (presumably a regimental marking), 1543 under the barrel.
There are 4 proof stamps to the right of the breech.
The magazine bears no stamps.
It cocks and dry fires.
The deactivation certificate is dated 14/11/2013.
