~ WW1 Remington US Model 1917 Bayonet And Scabbard ~
This is a World War One vintage Model 1917 manufactured by Remingtion Arms of Ilion. NY. This one has the early type of black leather with tin fittings scabbard.
The locket and chape of the scabbard are half black and half cream painted.
The blade has a 2 toned finish and is dated 1917 with the Remington Logo inside a circle. The opposite side of the blade is marked "U.S." with a flaming ordnance bomb and an inspector's symbol with an eagle head #17.
There are two twin grooves in the hilt to indicate that this is a M1917 bayonet for the M1917 Enfield rifle only so soldiers would not confuse it with the M1905 for the Springfield.

The bayonet is 21.85 inches (55.5 cm) long with the blade measuring 17 inches (43cm).
The scabbard is 18 inches (45.5cm) long.
The bayonet in its scabbard length is 22.83 inches (58 cm).
The set weighs 735 grams.
~ Condition ~
The general condition of the bayonet is good. The blade is excellent.
The lug catch is in good working order.
The scabbard is in fair used condition.
