~ WW2 Era British No. 7 Lee Enfield Bayonet ~
The No. 7 Mk. I/L was a very innovative and complex design, with a unique swivelling pommel.
It is a part knife bayonet and part socket bayonet and it would mount to the Lee Enfield No. 4 rifle and the Mk. V Sten submachine gun.
The bayonet comes in its original black painted steel scabbard.
A number of 176,000 No. 7 Mk. I/L bayonets were produced. The design was perfected by the Wilkinson Sword Co., who produced 1,000 bayonets in 1944. Mass production was carried out by four manufacturers from 1945–1948.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade length is 7.75 inches (19.5 cm) and the overall length of the bayonet is 12 inches (30.5 cm).
The bayonet in its scabbard length is 13 inches (33 cm).
It weighs 475 grams.
~ Condition ~
The bayonet is in good condition for its age.
The blade has developed some amount of pitting but is rust free.
The grips aged but their overall condition is still good.
