~ WW2 German SS SD (Sicherheitsdienst) Named Officers Sturmbannfuhrer (Major) Tunic ~
It is SiPo/Gestapo related so very sinister, but still a very interesting piece.
The tunic is of absolutely stunning quality and condition.
The material is top notch as is the silk liner, dagger hanger and it has adjustable braces inside for perfect adjustment etc. It would have been a very expensive tunic at the time, even for a Major. It just looks the part and has French cuffs etc.
The tunic is 100% original, as are the collar tabs, shoulder boards, sleeve eagle and cuff title.
The S.D. diamond may be a modern replacement but I was told there was a 'shadow' from where it had been.
It has the named Taylor's label from France so the tunic was either made or altered there.
This is the best quality Tunic I have ever seen.
As said I said everything mentioned is 100% period original, but with tunics you never know if its been altogether since pre '45 or not, but I will guarantee everything is pre '45 apart from the S.D diamond.
Whether its been together since pre '45, or 'restored' where an original tunic, and insignia have been brought together I honestly can't say either way. I think it could be a Heer officer who's transferred into the SS.
The KVKI and DRL awards are with it and are the most likely combination of awards on an SD tunic being non combatant.
