~ Japanese Arisaka Type 30 Bayonet And Scabbard By Kokura ~
A type 30 Arisaka bayonet with plain wood grips, scabbard and first pattern frog recently found in Burma.
The blade is marked on the ricasso with the mark of Kokura.
This bayonet has a hooked quillion guard suggesting it is an early production piece.
The type 30 bayonet was in production between 1897 to 1945 with the later models featuring a straight cross bar.
The steel scabbard is black painted and the brown leather frog is a rare 1st pattern.
~ Dimensions ~
The bayonet measures 20 inches (51cm) in total with the blade measuring 15.5 inches (39cm).
The overall length of the bayonet and scabbard is 20 ½ inches (52 cm).
The bayonet weighs 710g.
~ Condition ~
The bayonet is in used condition.
The metalwork is rusty and the markings are barely visible.
The grips are complete.
The scabbard has some amount of paint loss and the frog is worn.
