Create my profile now!Edward Paton was a Scottish based gunmaker recorded at 44 George Street, Perth Circa 1843. By 1870 the Company became Edward Paton & Son at George Street, Perth and 37 Church Street, Inverness (Circa 1886). Edward Paton & Son are also recorded in London 1871-1958. This is a best quality 12 Bore pin fire double Damascus barrelled shotgun made by Edward Paton. It is lever break action and has original Walnut furniture with finely chequered wrist and forestock. The underside of the stock has a void brass disc inlaid. The shotgun’s 30” Damascus steel barrels have clean smooth bores. The barrel rib has the maker’s name and Royal appointment ‘E. Paton, Perth Maker to HRH The Late Prince Consort’. The shotgun has double hammers & triggers, brass post fore sight and grooved action rear sight. It measures 46 ¾” overall. The lever, side plates, hammers and trigger guard with extended tang have deep cut best quality tooled foliate decoration. The action plates are signed ‘Edward Paton’ within banners. The break action and firing action of the weapon work crisply. The price for this superb shotgun includes UK delivery.
