**OUTSTANDING**WW2 Nazi German M40 Combat Helmet By ‘EF’ (Emailliwerk AG Fulda) With Brushed Camouflage Original Liner & Chin Strap. Sn 18689 - 18689

This is an original WW2 era Nazi German M40 combat helmet. The helmet retains its original brushed camo paint finish which is high quality with vibrant colour. It has no dents and all rivets/ pins and steel chin strap bales are correctly in place. The inner skirt of the helmet is manufacturer stamped ‘EF’ which is Emailliwerk AG Fulda (see page 142 of The History Of The German Steel helmet 1916-1945 by Baer) together with shell size ‘62’ and lot number which appears to be ‘1420’. The Lot number is partially painted over by a contemporarily applied name in white paint ‘Fischer’, no doubt the name of the German soldier who owned this helmet. The helmet is complete with original undamaged leather liner which has even service wear and no damage. It has its original leather chin strap with buckle. There are no visible maker or date marks on the chinstrap. All leather and stitching of the liner and strap are intact.
