Create my profile now!This is a quality Double barrel percussion Cape rifle made C 1850. It has 31" Damascus steel barrels and measures 48 ½” overall. The barrels, set side by side have a central flat top barrel rib which has graduated markings, fixed open fore sight and graduated 6 leaf rear sights. There is also a panel signed J.S.F Botha Cape Town 1082 most likely a South African retailer. The rifle barrel is .550 calibre and the bore is clean with well defined rifling. The shotgun barrel is smooth 15 bore. The bore is clean. It has its original walnut stock with chequered panels at the fore stock and wrist. It has a steel butt plate with extended tang and trigger guard with extended tang. The metal work has nice tooled foliate decoration to the action plates, breach tang, Dolphin hammers, trigger guard and butt plate tang. It has double triggers and the weapon cocks & dry fires crisply. The stock is holed for sling swivels & has its brass tipped and capped wood ramrod.
