~ 1822 Pattern George IV Infantry Officer’s Sword By Osborn ~

The sword has a plain blade with a double edge (towards the tip) and full length fuller.

The maker’s name is stamped on the hilt at the base of the blade, this is very worn.

The gilded hilt has the Georgian cipher beneath the King’s Crown.

The grip is black ray skin bound in copper wire.

    ~ Dimensions ~

The blade is 31.5 inches (80 cm) long and the overall length of the sword is 37 inches (94 cm).

    It weighs 670 grams.

    ~ Condition ~

The blade developed age darkening, but is free of rust. There is a minimum amount of pitting, as expected for its age.

The hilt is a little loose and has usage wear, the gilt has been touched up.

The grip is partially worn, especially to the top, as seen in the images.

    There is no scabbard.

    ~ Postage ~

UK postage is £20 or it can be collected from our shop in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.
