~ A 1852 Pattern Side-Arm Swiss Sawback Sword ~
The sword is plan with a brass handle and a blade with the typical saw-like edge. Just above grip, on the edge of the blade, it is stamped "F.HÖRSTER SCLINGEN". A makers mark in the form of a M within a shield appears on the other edge.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade measures 20 inches (50.75cm) long, with the sword having an overall length of 26 inches (66cm).
~ Condition ~
There is some blackening to the blade but it remains in an overall good condition with no signs of rust or wear. The grip has some wear, such as surface scratching but is also in a good condition.
The scabbard has some damage to the metal areas, such as denting and scratching. Some of the leather is worn through.
