Here we have an Enfield 1860c naval bayonet. The rifle looks to be an 1858 pattern breach loading Enfield rifle. The rifle is fitted with an 1858 naval cutlass bayonet, it is a type 2 cutlass as it has a leather grip.
The rifle has a steel rifled round barrel, with a mount for the bayonet. It has a brass trigger and guard. It comes with a leather strap used to carry it.
The cutlass is a slightly curved blade with a wide steel basket hilt with a muzzle ring and bayonet fittings added. The cutlass comes with a leather scabbard.
The rifle has the impressed “1860 Enfield” and marking of a small crown, leaf and the number 5, the crown and the letters V.R.
