British 1876 Pattern Martini Henry Rifle Socket Bayonet and Scabbard. BAYO 264 - BAYO 264

This is a nicely marked 1876 pattern Martini Henry rifle socket bayonet with original British markings to the blade and later Indian script to the 2 other sides of the blade. The British markings are 506 over R followed by the broad arrow over W.D.. an inspectors mark and 8 83 denoting manufacture in August 1883. The bayonet has then obviously been issued to Indian troops later in its service life. The scabbard is the mark II with 2 rivets in the leather body to hold the internal spring.
