~ 1933 Pattern German SA Dagger With Scabbard ~
Formed in 1921, the Sturmabteilung (SA) or "Brown Shirts", functioned as the original paramilitary wing of the Nazi Party (NSDAP). Comprised mostly out of WWI veterans and Freikorps (German volunteer military or paramilitary units), the SA's main function was to provide protection at Nazi rallies and assemblies. The SA played a critical role in Hitler's rise to power.
One side of the blade is etched with the makers mark, "RZM” and ‘M7/12’ (for Waffenfabrik Max Weyersber).
The other side is stamped with the phrase " ALLES FüR DEUTSCHLAND” ("All for Germany). This side also has the eagle insignia and SA rune roundel to the grip.
It is complete with its original scabbard with a single suspension ring.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade has a length of 8.2 inches (8.5 cm), with the dagger having an overall length of 13.5 inches (34.2 cm), 15 inches (38.1 cm) with scabbard attached.
~ Condition ~
Some scratches to the blade, but it remains in largely good order.
The scabbard is in very good condition, dents free.
The wooden grip has some deeper scratches just above the eagle, but remains in good condition. Some minor loss to the chrome.
