~ 19th Century 80 Bore Six Shot Double Action Pepperbox Revolver ~
The revolver’s steel frame is decorated with foliate engravings and fitted with chequered walnut grips attached to the steel frame with a central screw and nut.
The steel hammer is also decorated with foliate engravings.
Each cylinder is stamped with a number of Birmingham proof marks.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrels length is 2.55 inches (6.5 cm) and the overall length of the revolver is 8 inches (20.3 cm).
It weighs 750 grams.
~ Condition ~
The revolver is in fair condition for its age.
The cylinder has a bit of play. It does cock and release but the trigger won’t come back on its own and has to be pushed. Most probably the return spring is broken.
The bores remain clean.
The metalwork aged and darkened. Most of the decorations are worn.
The grips have some degree of usage and the one of the left is missing a splint on the top section.
