BladesUsed£ 150 Current biAuction Item
On Auction : Coming up for auction is a pair of musician officer’s swords; a wonderful ensemble. Powerful single-edged blade with a deep fuller on both sides, however, but almost from the middle, ends lenticular and double-edged. All two swords have the typical age marks, however, has a smooth texture and no corrosion. Manufacturer’s initials on the ricasso, along with the typical military and floral etchings. These swords were certainly battle-ready for defence. Tombak hilt with kidney-shaped guard plates, the typical musician motifs immortalised on the larger one. The ebony handle is grooved crossways, both swords are in a good condition. Ball-shaped pommel ending in the main bar, there is a break in the bar of one of the swords, might have had a contemporary repair, the parts are firmly in place. As mentioned at the start, these two historical swords make a very nice ensemble. Not shipped outside the European Union....Read full description
