~ 19th Century Bone & Wood Knife with Scabbard ~

It is probably a Malayan piece.

The scabbard is made of wood and bone, with floral engravings. The tip of the scabbard is an undyed white bone, the other pieces of bone are dyed a subtle green to look like jade.

The grip is made of engraved bone as well.

The unwatered steel blade is slightly curved.

~ Dimensions ~

The blades length is 5.2 inches (13.4 cm) and the overall length of the dagger and scabbard is 11.2 inches (29.8 cm).

It weighs 135 grams.

~ Condition ~

The knife is in fair used condition. The blade has some light surface rust. The grip is excellent.

The scabbard has the expected signs of wear with some cracks on the lower white part. The wooden half of the scabbard has been reglued at some point.

~ Postage ~

UK postage is £15, international at cost and it can be viewed in our shop.

~ Kris ~

Both a weapon and spiritual object, kris are often considered to have an essence or presence, considered to possess magical powers, with some blades possessing good luck and others possessing bad.
