    MINT, 1952 – 1968 QEII Irish 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers Regimental Sash With Bullion & Gold Ribbon Decoration, Regimental Arms, Queen’s Crown & Battle Honours. Sn 14702 - 14702

    The Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers was an Irish Line Infantry Regiment of the British Army in existence from 1881 until 1968. The regiment was formed in 1881 by the amalgamation of the 27th (Inniskilling) Regiment of Foot and the 108th Regiment of Foot. It saw service in the Second Boer War, the First World War and the Second World War. In 1968 it was amalgamated with the other Regiments in the North Irish Brigade, the Royal Ulster Rifles, and the Royal Irish Fusiliers (Princess Victoria's) into the Royal Irish Rangers. This is a near mint QEII 1st Battalion Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers Regimental Sash. The sash made of thick black velvet is backed with black patent leather or plastic has a gold tasseled lower section. The sash is trimmed with gold lace which has central red tape bands. The front of the sash has splendid, ornate bullion stitched Queens Crown ‘E II R’ (Elizabeth II Regina) above banners with Battalion and Regiment designation, Castle Arms above Regiment number ‘27’ and battle honours (all illustrated), The front and back sections of the Sash are 6” width. The length from the bottom of the front section to the top of the shoulder is 27 ½”. The backing of the sash at the shoulder has a flap with eyelet for buttoning to a shoulder epaulette when worn.
