This is a rare WW2, 1944 dated tin lined wooden ammunition box to contain 100 rounds of 20mm (20x138B) ammunition for the Flak 38 anti-aircraft gun. The box has metal screwed on reinforced corners to all of the corners. The front of the box has the remains of two paper labels, one stuck on top of the other which would have been done when the box of ammunition was re issued.
