This is a very rare round for the 1960's era experimental 37mm "Vigilante" anti-aircraft Gatling type gun. The Vigilante was a prototype tracked Anti-aircraft revolving cannon based on the (T250) system conceived in the late 1950s and abandoned in 1960. This inert Target Practice round has a brown lacquered steel cartridge case stamped 37MMT68B3 LOT FA – e-627-1960 . The copper driving banded steel projectile is stamped 37MM t324e23 OVER EBI 1 1961 and retains most of its original blue paint. It is stencilled in white 37 G over SHELL T324E23 over TP INERT .
