The piece has been cleaned and polished over the years and any marks from the lockplate disappeared.

The barrel is proof marked with a pair of inspectors marks, of which one may be Turners. Also there is a pair of number '25' stamped close to the proof marks.

The barrel is rifled.

The metalwork has age signs and darkening, as expected.

The rifling is still fairly good for the age.
