Largest selection of genuine antique weapons for sale in UK. See our website andrewbottomley.com. Ref 2028. A rare American Manhattan 6 shot .36 calibre Percussion Revolver. Circa 1867-1868. The 6.5 inch barrel marked with the address Manhattan Fire Arms Co. Newark N. J. Patented March 8, 1864. The cylinder clearly engraved in oval panels with military and naval scenes. All matching serial numbers. The Manhattan Navy appeared in a variety of series beginning with the original series 1 of 1859 to series 5 1867-1868. This Manhattan revolver serial no 1631, shows that it is an early one of the 5 series as there were only 9000 of these revolvers made. It was an obvious improvement on the earlier 5 shot Manhattans and is one of very few surviving Manhattan revolvers found with the 6 shot cylinder. Action in good working order. A small chip to one of the wooden grips otherwise in good condition showing little signs of use. Ref 2028.This is an obsolete antique item and is sold as a collectors item only.
