A fabulous cavalry sword of the Napoleonic period, this pattern sword was originally carried by the tall and fierce Cuirassiers of Napoléon's Grand Armee and was the same pattern cavalry sword carried before and during the battle of Waterloo in June 1815. Complete in its original steel scabbard with two hanging rings. The hilt stamped on the brass edge with the letter B. The 37.5 inch blade with various military markings including K , B, L in circular cartouches. The back edge engraved "MANUFACTURE IMPERIALE DU KLINGENTHAL OCTOBRE 1813". A highly desirable and rare sword. Grip wire replaced, otherwise in very good condition. Overall length in scabbard is 46 inches.
