The blade is 33 inches long and engraved overall with thistles and to one side with a Scottish Highlanders badge and the lettering "ROYAL HIGHLANDERS OF CANADA". The other side is engraved with the Royal crest G V R for King George The Fifth. The makers name is J.R. GAUNT & Son, Late Edward Thurkle, London, etched at the forte. Leather covered wooden scabbard. Original grip wire binding still fully present over the fish skin covered grip. Super condition, blade just like new with no rust or damage. Leather scabbard shows some minor signs of use and wear. Very minor wear to the nickel plating on the basket. Overall length in scabbard 41 inches. Blade is near mint. Very good condition. This is a genuine military sword from the era of King George V. 1911-1936. Ref 8947.
