News Dealer & Industry News
This is a rare example of a RNR and its scabbard.
The guard bears the kings crown above the anchor and it comes with its gold bullion and navy blue tassel.
The blade is etched on one side with the Royal coat of arms and foliage and on the reverse with the fouled anchor beneath the kings crown and foliage. The cartouche is engraved "John Langdon & Sons, Duke St, Liverpool".
The scabbard is made of black leather with brass fittings.
~ Dimensions ~
The blade is 31 inches (79 cm) long and the overall length of the sword in the scabbard is 37 inches (94 cm).
It weighs 1.23 Kg.
~ Condition ~
The blade is in good condition and it developed a nice patina.
The basket and the grip remain in good condition with some oxidisation traces.
The scabbard is a bit tarnished but the leather can be easily brought back to its original look. Its brass fittings lost their shine, but remain free of damage.
