Circa 1790-1800. The side plates engraved with the maker's name Spencer on one side and London on the other side. The screw-off barrels are each engraved at the breech with the number 2 and 3. Plain flat sided walnut grips, drop down trigger and the breech stamped with British proof marks and a padlock mark. In good condition and working order. Overall length 6.5 inches. A nice example of the type of double barrelled pistol carried for personal protection at the end of the 18th century. Ref 1606. A very scarce type.
