A very good example of a double barrelled over & under percussion pistol circa 1840-1850, made by Charles Lancaster of London. Pistol length approx 8 inches. Complete with its original steel swivel ramrod fitted underneath the barrels. The barrel engraved with the maker's name "C. LANCASTER, LONDON". Lancaster's serial number 656 engraved on the trigger guard. Sliding safeties fitted to each hammer. The breech plugs with platinum vent holes. Stamped with London view and proof marks to the barrels. Calibre approx .47. Silver oblong shaped escutcheon fitted into the rear of grip. Showing some very minor signs of use otherwise in excellent condition. A rare item. Ref 1669. This is an obsolete antique pistol and is sold as a collectors item only.
