A very scarce Chinese brass mounted sword, probably circa 1860-1900.The grip bound with braid with brass top and bottom mounts embossed with symbols. The single edged blade with two fullers running down the blade, length approx 19 inches. A scarce sword quite possibly brought back to the UK as a souvenir after the Boxer rebellion circa 1900-1901. In its correct brass mounted scabbard with two hanging rings and seperate brass hanger. Overall length in scabbard 30 inches. Ref 1796.
