VERY RARE** WW2 1944 Nazi German Gewehr & Karabiner 43 (G43 / K43) Walther (ac) 7.92mm Calibre Semi Automatic Sniper Rifle With GW ZF4 Sniper Scope By ‘ddx’ (Voigtlaender, Nazi marked Scope Mount & 1943 Nazi Sling**UK/EU DEACTIVATION CERTIFICATED** - 18168:20

The Gewehr 43 or G43 /K43 rifle is a 7.92mm semi-automatic rifle developed by Germany during World War II. The design was based on that of the earlier G41(W), but incorporating an improved short-stroke piston gas system similar to that of the Soviet Tokarev SVT-40, and it incorporated innovative mass-production techniques. The Gewehr-Zielfernrohr 4-fach (Gw ZF4x) or 4 power telescopic rifle sight was the great white hope of the beleaguered German sniper. Faced with increasingly skilled Soviet snipers, as well as massive numbers of regular troops, the military leaders pressed for a sniper rifle and scope combination capable of mass production resulting in this new scope being mated with the newly produced G43 semi-automatic rifle. The general idea was to produce every single G43 with the capability of having a telescopic sight mounted on an integral rail milled into the receiver. This is a rare to find, original, WW2 dated Nazi German G43 Sniper Rifle. It has an adjustable rear sight, shrouded fore sight and is complete with original cleaning rod & butt plate. It has all original wood and is fitted with leather sling which is Waffenamt, 1943 dated and has the Nazi German manufacturer code ‘nka’. The frame is faintly date stamped '44'(1944) together with model designation ‘K43’, Nazi German Wartime manufacturer code 'ac' (Walther), serial number ‘2066q’ and Nazi Army acceptance mark. The weapon has other un-matching numbers. The optics of the scope are faulty. The scope is crisply marked with model designation ‘GW ZF 4’ and by the Nazi manufacturer ‘ddx’ (Voigtlaender u. Sohn AG, Braunschweig). It is also has serial number and a triangle mark denoting ‘internally greased’. The scope mount is Waffenamt and marked ‘fest’. The scope has original leather lens protector cups joined together by leather strap. Deactivated to UK/EU specification in 2020 the rifle has a moving slide and trigger suitable for display only, this does not detract from the fact that this desirable rifle is very rare to find in the collector’s market. The price includes UK/EU deactivation certificate & UK delivery. Sn 18168:20
