Description

British, Original Copy Of Aircraft Recognition Official Publication Number 1764 (A.P.1764) Dated March 1940. Sn. 13084:15 - 13084:15

This is an original and complete copy of the Air Ministry official publication number 1764 (A.P.1764) dated March 1940. The volume shows all the known war planes of Britain, France and Germany and was used by British pilots in advance of missions for friendly and enemy plane recognition. The publication specifically stated “NOT TO BE TAKEN TN THE AIR”. Each section is thumb tabbed and shows each aircraft form 8 different perspectives with information about speed, wingspan etc. on the back of each page. There are also details of camouflage and colouring for each country’s aircraft. This book was issued just before the Battle of Britain (17/7/40 – 31/10/40) and in all probability was used by British fighter pilots. This publication is in a clean, undamaged condition and retains its elastic retention strap. The publication is a scarce survivor of an iconic period of W.W.2. The price includes UK delivery.
