3D Printed Guns: Will They Affect the Firearms Industry?
News Dealer & Industry News
With effect from Tuesday 2nd May 2017 JC Militaria Ltd will comply with new legislation imposed by the European Parliament and will only sell deactivated weapons which have been re-certified to the new European Specification and which have a 'new' UK / EU certificate. Weapons which are currently advertised will be modified and re-certified prior to sale. Please contact for details and prices. Please note Signal / Flare pistols, mortars and launchers do not come under the remit of this legislation and they can be supplied with their current certificate. For further clarification please see below. We would advise all customers and collectors to join the Deactivated Weapons Association . Please note the following On May 2nd it will become an offence to sell, gift or transfer any firearm not deactivated to the current Home Office deactivation specifications. These are the EU standards introduced on April 8th last year with additional UK processes added on top. This prohibits the sale/transfer of all firearms deactivated to any of the previous UK specifications unless they fall outside the remit of the EU Regulation (flare pistols, mortars, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, etc.). Any weapon, which is not exempt, which has been deactivated MUST have a current EU / UK certificate BEFORE it can be sold legally. To be clear, this applies to everyone irrespective of whether they are a private seller or a retailer.
