American Civil War Era 1864-1870 National Arms Company USA .32 Calibre Moores / Williamsons 1864 Patent 6 Shot Teat Fire Revolver. Sn 18588 - 18588
Manufactured from 1864 to 1870 by National Arms Co Brooklyn, New York, these 6 shot American front loading teat-fire revolvers were one of the most successful competitors to Smith & Wesson and it is believed that their popularity was one of the reasons for Colt's purchase of the National Arms Co in 1870. The top of the 3 1/4" barrel is faintly ‘National Arms Brooklyn NY’ and the underside with number ‘25623'. The bore is clean with crisp rifling. It has a blade fore sight and notched hammer rear sight. There is no visible Moores / Williamsons 1864 Patent detail. The brass frame and butt strap are nicely scroll engraved. It has a steel hammer and smooth dark American Rosewood grip. The cocking & firing actions work as they should and it has a captive swivelling extractor bar with hooked end. The price includes UK delivery. NB As an antique teat fire pistol no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as part of a collection or display. Sn 18588
