An American tip up .32 rim-fire revolver made by the world famous Smith & Wesson of Springfield Mass. Circa 1868-1875. The 3.5 inch barrel marked on top with the name "SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD MASS. PAT.D. APR 3.1855, JULY 5.1859 & NOV. 21.1865". Two piece wooden grips. Overall length 7.5 inches. This Smith & Wesson revolver was one of the very first commercially successful revolvers to use rim-fire cartridges instead of the previously popular loose powder and lead ball. Action in good working order. In good condition showing minor signs of wear and still retaining much original blued finish. Ref 1907.
