Mortimer of London Circa 1780 -1820. The side-plate engraved "H. W. MORTIMER LONDON" to one side and "GUN MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY" to the other. Drop down folding trigger, screw off 1.5 inch barrel. London proof marks to the underside of the breech. Overall length of pistol is 6.25 inches. In good condition showing. Action in good working order. H. W. Mortimer bore a Royal Warrant having supplied pistols to the Royal family, Mortimer was probably the best known and one of the revered gun makers of the period. Ref 1724.
