The English Gunsmiths John and William Andrews occupied 9 Pall Mall from 1821 to 1868. This is an excellent English percussion duelling/ holster pistol by the Andrews Brothers. It is 15 ½” overall with an 8 ¾” browned steel barrel with platinum roundel insert at the breech. The smoothbore is clean with no pitting. It has a steel side plate with sliding bolt safety, scroll engraving & dolphin hammer. The side plate is also engraved by the maker 'Andrews'. The flat top of the barrel is engraved ‘Pall Mall London’. It has a 'V' notch plate rear sight and small brass post foresight, walnut full stock with chequered grip and the back of the grip is inlaid with a void German silver escutcheon. Its steel trigger guard with extended tang & acanthus bud finial, steel butt plate, barrel tang and hammer all have foliate decoration. The pistol is complete with its original captive steel ramrod and its action works as it should. The metal and wood of the pistol have no damage. The price includes UK delivery.
