The mandau is a sword used when hunting heads, and as a machete in daily life.
The hilt is made from animal horn and is beautifuly carved with characteristic dayak ornaments.
The dyed tuft of hair is human.
On the blade are 79 inset brass lugs (3 are missing) which represent the number of heads collected.

The hilt has some amount of damage.

The total length of the sword is is 27.16 inches (69 cm).
