WW1 Era U.S. Army Rock Island Arsenal (RIA) Pattern 1905 Long Bayonet Dated 1906 For M1903 Springfield Rifles & Leather Covered Steel Scabbard Marked 'RIA 1907'. Sn 16041 - 16041

An original, U.S. Pattern 1905 Long Bayonet (see page 434 plate 922 of ‘the bayonet book’ by Watts & White). It has a 15 ¾” clean, fullered blade and wood grips. On one side the blade is crisply stamped on the ricasso '1906 RIA’ & the reverse is stamped 'US' (Army). One of the wood grips is impressed ‘97’ together with the Frankford arsenal ignited grenade mark. The bayonet has the correct scabbard retaining stud button which works perfectly. It is complete with original leather covered steel scabbard. The scabbard has a wire belt hanger and the leather is impressed ‘RIA 1907 HEK’ and ‘1.13T’ above number 62. The leather was areas of service wear and the leather at the throat has a contemporary repair. The price for this nicely marked bayonet & scabbard includes UK delivery. Sn 16041
