This is a nice N.C.O’s (Non-commissioned officer) version of the M1895 Mannlicher bayonet made at Steyr. It is marked to the blade with OE over WG (Osterreichiche Waffenfabrik Gesellschaft Steyr) and the double headed eagle denoting use by the imperial forces and not for export. The blade is 9 ¾ “ in length nad has rounde fullers. The crossguard is secured by 2 rivets and has a hooked quillon. The grips are wood secured by domed rivets and the pommel has a hole which would have had a steel knot loop (now missing but easily replaced) The scabbard is steel with a brazed frog stud.
