    MATCHING MANUFACTURER, WW1 & WW2 Era U.S. Army Signal Corps 6 x Magnification 30mm Aperture Prism Stereo Field Binoculars & Leather Case With Integral Compass By Bausch & Lomb Rochester New York USA (Inventor’s Of Ray Ban Brand Sunglasses) . Sn 13769 - 13769

    Bausch & Lomb of Rochester NY USA began making Binoculars for the American Army & Navy C1912 (see page 57 of the book Military Binoculars & Telescopes For Land, Air & Sea Service by Seeger). The company developed their famous Ray-Ban brand of sunglasses for pilots in 1936. The company is still in existence today. These are a nice original cased pair WW1 & WW2 U.S. Army Signal Corps Field Binoculars by Bausch & Lomb. The blackened brass and alloy binoculars measure 6 ¼” width X 4 ½” height and have a brown textured finish to the body, with adjustable bakelite eyepieces. The body of the binoculars have lanyard bars fitted with original brown leather neck strap. All optics are good and function as they should. The shoulders of the binoculars are stamped with manufacturer and magnification roundels (illustrated). The front of the frame has ‘U.S. Army Signal Corps’, ‘6E/360’ & serial number ‘EE280212’ (all illustrated). They are contained in their fitted hard body brown leather case with hinged lid and single sprung retaining strap. The case is fitted with leather shoulder strap and rear belt loop. The lid is impressed with number ‘6E/ 361’. The inside of the lid has the Bausch & Lomb manufacturer roundel. The exterior of the lid has its original factory applied fully functioning compass with Bakelite rim. The compass has Bausch & Lomb manufacturer detail on its face (illustrated). The case is undamaged with all stitching intact. Price for this nicely marked pair of U.S. Signal Corps binoculars & case with integral compass includes UK delivery. Sn 13769
