This is a 1888 Mark II pattern bayonet manufactured by Sanderson. The ricasso of the blade is marked SANDERSON SHEFFIELD 11 01 (November 1901) and Crown ER (Edward Regina). The other side carries a broad arrow and an Enfield inspection stamp. Sanderson and Mole only produced small quantities of this bayonet, followed by Wilkinson who produced only 108,000. The mark II version was only produced between 1899 and 1903 with Enfield making the majority. The scabbard is the mk I in black leather with steel chape and top mount. There appears to be a contemporary ‘ANTWERP 1914’ cut into the front leather of the scabbard. See Skennerton pages 170 – 173, item B215. The price includes UK delivery. BAYO 519
