Victorian British War Dept Board Of Ordnance Marked .577" Bore Yeomanry Officer's Percussion Holster Pistol With Captive Steel Ram Rod & Brass Fittings . Sn 13367 - 13367

This is a very good Yeomanry Officer’s Holster Pistol. It is 12" overall with a steel 6" round steel barrel. The barrel is .577 smooth bore. The bore has some staining consistent with age but no rust. The outside of the barrel has even light pepper pitting which does not detract from the attractiveness of the piece. It has a flat stepped lock with heavy Dolphin hammer. The side plate is crisply marked with Queen’s Crown & VR Royal Cypher (Victoria Regina). It has a walnut full stock with brass fittings. It has its original captive steel ram rod & Military lanyard ring. The stock is impressed with WD Board of Ordnance ‘BO’ with arrow mark and other inspection marks. The wood is also impressed ‘Yeomans’ and with what appears to be ‘1.P’. Its action works as it should. The metal and wood of the pistol have no damage. The price includes UK delivery. NB As an antique percussion pistol no licence is required to own this item in the UK if retained as a part of a collection or display. Sn 13367
