This is a very nice example of one of the many Brown Bess socket bayonet variants in use in both Britain & India in the Late 18th to 19th Century. It is profusely marked with many Regimental & Rack numbers on the Socket. As there are so many variations it is impossible to be precise but this example has a triangular blade length of 17”. A socket length of 3” and muzzle ring diameter of 25mm (see Skennerton item B49 page 40 for similar examples). The rare to find scabbard is brass mounted. The leather is in remarkable condition for its age. A nice example of an iconic British bayonet. The price includes UK delivery. BAYO 264
