Fine flintlock fowling piece by G Brown of London , circa 1800 . Very good lock with roller frizzen and rainproof pan , with very strong mainspring , holding crisply on full and half cock . 33" barrel of approximately 20 bore with gold line at breech and gold touch-hole. Wood solid with a little nibbling round lock and an expert inlet repair . Museum collection number on left side of barrel . Ramrod is a cosmetic replacement , being just a piece of dowel . Great wallhanger just as it is , or could be improved by someone who is "good with wood " . Cheap for this quality of gun at £495. Can be viewed/collected SW London or posted UK mainland for £20 .
