The Browning comes with its belt loader, belt magazine, empty .303 cartridge belt which are stamped for 1939 or before and an almost complete tool kit.
The frame is stamped on the left hand side...
“FABIQUE NATIONALE D’ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL-BELGIQUE 1939”
The serial number, “309”, is stamped just above the loader and on the top just before the barrel. A “RP” stamp is also on the top of the Browning.
The deactivation certificate is dated 29/2/1996,
The FN N1939 was specially designed for the British Hurricane Fighter and was basically a lightened, cold weather adapted copy of the M1919 for aircraft use.
~ Dimensions ~
The barrel has a length of 24.5 inches (62.3cm), with the Browning having an overall length of 38.6 inches (98.2cm). It weighs 9.62kg.
The belt loader has a width of 11.5 inches (29.2cm) and a depth of 8 inches (20.3cm). It weighs 3.96kg.
The set weighs 11 kg in total.
~ Condition ~
The Browning is in excellent condition. It has been preserved well with only a few minor scratches. A fine example.
