EARLY SERIAL NUMBER 1ST YEAR OF PRODUCTION**1936 B.S.A. Standard Model No.2 .22 Calibre Under Lever Air Rifle With T- Prefix Serial Number. Sn 17867 - 17867
This is a BSA Standard Model No.2Air Rifle with early ‘T’ prefix serial number. These rifles were made from 1936 to 1939 (see page 29 of Hiller’s book ‘The Collectors Guide To Air Rifles). This example has its original wood stock with chequered BSA panels and ribbed butt with trap. The underside of the stock is impressed 14 ¼ (inches). It has a 19 ½” rifled barrel and measures 45” overall. The rifled barrel is clean with crisp rifling. It has a blade foresight & adjustable dial rear sight. The left side of the weapon bears the serial number 'T272' which dates it to the 1st year of production 1936. The loading port is marked ‘2’ (.22 calibre). The rifle loads & fires as it should.
