This is a BSA Improved Model D Air Rifle (see pages 19 to 23 of the book ‘A Collectors Guide To Air Rifles’ By Hiller). These rifles were made with both straight hand and pistol grip stocks. This example has its original wood stock with pistol grip stock and correct chequered panels. It has a steel butt plate, a 19 ½” barrel and measures 43 ¾” overall. It has a pinched blade foresight and adjustable dial rear sight. The metal work has nice patina throughout. There is no visible serial number on the rifle. The loading port is marked ‘Load’ and with the BSA piled arms trademark. The underside of the bayonet cocking lever has Lincoln Jeffries patent information (illustrated). The top of the cylinder is correctly marked 'The BSA Air Rifle (Improved Model D The Birmingham Small Arms Company Limited Sole Manufacturer'. The Rifle cocks, loads & fires as it should with a strong spring action. The price includes UK delivery. AI 707
