In 1920 BSA Supplied Siam with a contract of 10,000 SMLE rifles and Bayonets (see British & Commonwealth Bayonets by Skennerton, page 381). These BSA Co MK III* SMLE Siamese contract rifles are very rare. The rifle has all original woodwork throughout with just the bumps and bruises to be expected and has the Siamese Wild Tiger Corps emblem 'Tiger's Head' and Siamese script markings on the left side of the steel stock strap. The right side is crisply stamped 'BSA Co'. It is complete with, sight protector wings and stripper clip loading bridge. The top of the breech has the BSA piled arms trademark. The rifle is serial number 63515. It also has a brass butt plate with trap and original webbing sling. The stock is fitted with a void brass disc. Deactivated to UK/EU specification the weapon’s bolt & trigger move but it does not cock & dry fire. The price includes UK delivery and UK/EU deactivation certificate.
