This revolver still has around 75-80% blued finish on the frame & barrel, and around 90% original finish on the cylinder. The grips with an old crack to one side, but still retaining most of their original varnish. Action is just like new. Very crisp. The barrel is marked on top C.R. Alsop Middletown, Conn. Patented July 17th August 7th, 1860. May 14th 1861. The cylinder is marked C. R. Alsop Patented November 26th 1861. This revolver is the very rare .31 calibre pocket model with 4 inch barrel. According to Flayderman's Guide there were only 300 made of this particular model. He does not show an illustration it is so rare! This is without a doubt one of the best that we have seen in the last 50 years! Ref 6899. This is an obsolete antique item and is sold as a collectors item only.
