~ A circa 1780 Broadside Flintlock Pistol by D. Moore of London ~
The unusual muzzle terminates in an oval shape allowing a spread of shot.
The brass frame of the pistol is decorated on both sides with engravings representing flags, drums, a Britannia shield and globe. The trigger guard is similarly engraved.
The left hand side is named 'London' and on the right hand side 'D MOORE'.
The pistol is equipped with a sliding safety.
A pair of British proofs are marked on the underside of the barrel.
The sack butt grip is made from one walnut piece and has a silver rectangular escutcheon plate on top.

The barrels length is 11 cm (4.2 inches).
The muzzle opening is 2.5 cm (1 inches) wide.
The overall length of the pistol is 23 cm (8 inches).
The pistol weights 340 grams.
~ Condition ~
The pistol is in a good tidy condition with minor wear. On the brass barrel on the down side the color faded in one spot, but is not serious.
The wooden grip has no cracks, just some pitting, but is nothing serious.
The flintlock mechanism works well as does the safety catch.
